‘Six Shooter’, the Irish short film that is competing for an Oscar at this weekend’s Academy Awards ceremony, will screen on RTÉ Two on Sunday night at 11.40pm ahead of the gala ceremony which begins in LA at 12.05am Irish time.
Directed by acclaimed playwright Martin McDonagh, the live action short is a black comedy about a train journey in which a recently bereaved older man (Brendan Gleeson) encounters a strange oddball (Rúaidhrí Conroy). The film co-stars David Wilmot (Studs) and Aisling O’Sullivan (The Clinic).
‘Six Shooter’ picked up the Irish Film & Television Award for Best Short in November 2005 and is a real contender for gold on Sunday night.
