The Digital Hub has announced it is inviting applications from artists working in digital media to participate in a site-specific exhibition. Six artists will be selected and allocated one building each from which to draw their inspiration.
These selected buildings are due to be renovated as part of the Digital Hub’s new site development and artists will be given time to visit and investigate their allocated building, take photos, record sound & video footage etc.
This project is designed to serve as a historical record of the famous Liberties community, as well as an innovative environment for creative work. The completed work will be shown in a gallery environment and online. The final piece must, therefore, lend itself to be shown both physically in a gallery environment and remotely via the Internet.
Work submitted must utilise digital media technology in its construction or in the way in which it is presented. New and experimental video, web art as well as works using mobile technologies, digital stills, sound pieces, and gaming technology will all be accepted.
