Irish Post-Production facilities companies have joined together to create the ‘Humbug’ campaign, a Christmas charity drive to raise funds for urgent equipment needed at Our Lady’s Childrens Hospital in Crumlin.
Following RTE’s fly on the wall series ‘Return To Our Lady’s’, it became evident that the hospital urgently requires specialised equipment in the Radiology department and does not have the resourses to fund it. The Irish post production industry has decided to offer some support.
This Christmas a large number of facilities in town under the common banner of ‘Humbug’ have agreed to combine their resources , some are even ditching their “client bottles” and instead putting the money into helping fund this equipment.
Anner, Digirent, Egg, The Element, High Wire, Lime Street Sound, Mint Productions,
Moynihan Russell, Piranha Bar, Post It, Reelgood Facilities, Russell Avis Productions, Slate, Song & Dance Stage School-Baldoyle, Speers Films, Tyrell, Windmill Lane Pictures, Yard Media & more have already lent their support to the campaign. Unfortunatley, this is still not enough and the net has been widened to seek support from the entire Irish film and television industry.
Cheque donations should be sent for the attention of Suzanne Downey c/o Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin, Dublin 12. On the reverse of the cheque mark it ref: Humbug.
A receipt will be issued directly from Our Lady’s to acknowledge every donation and the hospital have also agreed to name all contributors from the industry on a framed board within the hospital. Please give generously and email Locky Butler locky@slatepost.ie if you wish to be included on the plaque or for further info.
