The Mobile Messaging Forum (MMF), in conjunction with IBEC's Audiovisual Federation and Screen Producers Ireland, has been announced for Dublin. The Industry workshop “Mobile Meets TV” will be presented by Monique van Dusseldorp (Industry Analyst and |
publisher of ParticipationTV.com) on Thursday July 21st 2005.
TV is growing from a mass medium to a channel for mass involvement, allowing viewers to contribute, bet, sell, date and talk via the TV screen. New TV formats invite viewers to become part of the show, comment on the show, and be the show through IVR, premium SMS and MMS messages and video calls. At the same time, the mobile phone itself is becoming a TV receiver, for both existing TV channels as well as a whole new range of video content.
At the MMF Monique Van Dusseldorp will give a briefing on the latest research and views on Mobile phone use in interactive TV. The Mobile Messaging Forum (MMF) seeks to grow the mobile services market in Ireland through providing a forum where mobile operators and service, content and application providers can come together to discuss issues of mutual interest; through co-ordinating standards, research, best-practice and educational activities; and through promoting the benefits and positive aspects of mobile services to media, industry, government and the general public.
The agenda will include:
. How do broadcasters, carriers, television production companies and
concept developers profit from audience interaction and the creation of communities?
. What are successful traditional and 'advanced' Participation TV
examples from across Europe, North America and exciting new Asian markets?
. What video to mobile services work best?
. An exclusive video presentation of the world's new Participation TV
shows
Attendance will be strictly limited to MMF, Audiovisual Federation and SPI members.
