Filmbase reported an overall loss for 2004 at their AGM, which took place at it's new Curved Street HQ in Temple Bar on Wednesday the 24th of August, but remain confident this will turnaround in 2005.
The board expressed their confidence in the finances going forward for the independent filmmakers body and indicated the preliminary audit on the first six months of 2005 show a small profit being turned.
Considered as a the predominant cause of the poor 2004 results is the move to the larger Curved Street location and the board suggested the growth this has generated in recent and future months will compensate for the 2004 loss.
Seven members of the board were re-elected unopposed - Alan Fitzpatrick; Simon Hudson; Jeanine Hurley; Josephine Conlon; Brendan Muldowney; Barry Dignam and Ruairi O’Brien.
