The Queens Film Theatre in Belfast will screen the UK theatrical premiere of the IFTA winning feature film ‘Bloom’ on Wednesday 15th June, with ‘Bloom’ director Sean Walsh and star Stephen Rea in attendance.
The film, based on James Joyce's Ulysses, tells the story of the real and fantasy journey through Edwardian Dublin on 16th June 1904 where Leopold Bloom sets out on a journey that became one of the greatest tales of the 20th century. The film also stars IFTA Award Winner, Angeline Ball, Hugh O’Conor and Patrick Bergin.
The ‘Bloom’ screening will begin at 9.15pm and will be followed by a Q&A with the director.
‘Bloom’ opens in Northern Ireland on June 15th, 2005 at the QFT, Belfast and opens in Derry, Newry and Enniskillen on June 17th and will be released across the rest of the U.K. in September, 2005.
The film is distributed by Stoney Road Films, Dublin, who, having released the film successfully last year in the Republic, have now taken on the UK distribution. Their next project is Ciaran O’Connor’s ‘Capital Letters’.
