Lough Hyne is a semi-enclosed marine lake which is a unique location. It measures just 0.8 km by 0.6 km and it is believed that the Lough was a freshwater lake up to 4000 years ago, when a rise in sea levels joined it with the sea.
This is a vast, empty and dilapidated heavy engineering site, currently in receivership, which sits empty and decaying awaiting redevelopment, but because of this is a great filming location.
The largest Town in East Cork it is a busy and thriving market Town with a long Main Street lined with some beautiful Georgian and Victorian Public Buildings plus traditional shop fronts and even the some castles.
