ASSISTANT EDITOR ROLE <<< MOTHERLAND

We’d like to hear from talented Assistant Editors to work across the many exciting projects coming up at Motherland. We have opportunities on a permanent and freelance basis.

We are an award winning post team, working on a wide range of formats. We create everything from feature length documentaries, TV commercials, content, short films and music videos. 

We are a family of directors, producers and editors, with a collective ambition to bring great ideas to life. Always with craft at the heart of everything we do. 

Motherland is looking for assistant editors with 1-2 years experience in that role, with a background in commercials preferred but not essential. We’d also like to hear from edit assistants with experience in data prep and DI pipelines. Experience in cloud based workflows and a range of file transfer protocols, or delivery to broadcast platforms would be an advantage. 

The ideal candidate should have the following attributes:

• Strong working knowledge of a wide range of editing solutions but Premiere Pro in particular.  
• Experience in After Effects is an advantage.
• Keen understanding of the technical aspects of a post-production pipeline.
• Strong communication skills and keep the producers updated on timelines and delivery schedules.
• Keep up to date on new techniques and programmes that can be added to our workflow.
• Comfortable working to tight deadlines. Be a team player with a strong work ethic and good attention to detail combined with the ability to multitask.
