lagship project of the Nerve Centre, Foyle Film Festival's 27th annual edition launches on November 19 and runs until November 23. The festival's 2014 education programme spans November 18-27.
A host of Hollywood names joined the line-up for last year's festival, including, Oscar® winning director Danny Boyle in conversation with BAFTA nominated screenwriter Frank Cottrell Boyce while Pulitzer Prize winning writer and actor Sam Shepard will attend a screening of his classic movie, Paris, Texas in Brunswick Moviebowl on Friday November 22.
Highlights included; a special 40th anniversary, never-before-seen in UK cinemas, screening of The Wicker Man. Featuring brand new extras and the soundtrack, this is every movie fans perfect ending to a much mythicised search for the most complete version of the cult-classic film.
Elsewhere programme standouts ranged from Irish premieres of two brand new Disney features, Oscar-nominated animated adventure Frozen and the Tom Hanks-starring Saving Mr Banks to Enniskillen filmmaker Stephen Fingleton being in for Oscar consideration after his gripping feature SLR was named Best Irish Short Film at Foyle's LIM Awards.
