The feature debut from Chris Baugh has earned an IFTA nomination for Susan Lynch in the category of Best Supporting Actress in Film, and is a revenge thriller produced by Six Mill Hill Productions.
The project premiered at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival to critical acclaim.
Nigel O’Neill (Game of Thrones) leads the cast as Donal, a middle-aged Irish farmer, who still lives at home with his mother, and sets off on a mission of revenge when the old lady is murdered.
Producers are Brendan Mullin (Zoo) and Katy Jackson, with a script co-written by Mullin and Baugh. The project was filmed in Northern Ireland and was developed through Northern Ireland Screen’s New Talent Focus scheme with Lottery funding from the Arts Council of Northern Ireland.
Dylan Marchetti, SVP Acquisitions at Well Go US:
“Bad Day for the Cut is an amazing achievement – it puts a spin on the revenge thriller that’s just so incredibly fresh. One review referenced both the Dardenne brothers and Jeremy Saulnier in the same sentence, and that sums up quite perfectly what Chris has accomplished here.”
