Mary Curtis Talks About Ireland's Digital Television Switchover (Interview Q&A)
23 May 2011 | With Minister for Communications, Pat Rabbitte officially launching Ireland’s SAORVIEW on Thursday, May 26th, IFTN spoke with Mary Curtis, RTÉ’s Director of Digital Switchover to find out about Ireland’s current status with regards to the upcoming 2012 Analogue Terrestrial Television switch off. Appointed to the new senior executive position in July 2010, Mary Curtis’ role gives her full responsibility for an effective transition to digital television using the new Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) system by 2012.

The Irish VFX master will demonstrate the pioneering technology he has helped introduce to cinema-goers in spectacular blockbusters such as ‘300’, ‘Watchmen’, ‘Where the Wild Things Are’ and ‘Transformers’. 
Interview: Stephen Grant Clicks with TV3 Online
14 Oct 2010 | July of this year saw Stephen Grant rejoin the TV3 team in the role of Director of Online. The position was created in response to a growing online trend in Irish audiences and has seen the number of unique users on the TV3 site grow 40% year-on-year and a 50% growth in page views. IFTN spoke with Stephen to discuss the running of the site, the further features he is hoping to introduce and the recent ‘X Factor’ boost the site has enjoyed. 
Interview: Philip Flynn on Dublin's Digital Hub
30 Sep 2010 | The second phase of Dublin’s Digital Hub comes to an end in 2011. The government initiative has been in operation since 2004 and will see its third and final phase of development come into effect in 2012. IFTN spoke with Digital Hub Development Agency’s CEO, Philip Flynn to discuss the ongoing project, the steps he thinks the Irish government now needs to take and the consequences of the current property impasse.

15 Sep 2010 | The 2010 Kinsale Shark Awards will take place this year on the 17th and 18th of September. This year the award categories will include four new Digital categories, namely: Digital Channel, Digital Craft, Digital Fresh Thinking and Digital Worldwinner. Dave Birss has come up with the new categories and will judge the respective submissions, IFTN spoke about the challenges that this task posed. 
Interview: Brown Bag Films Move into Features
12 Aug 2010 | 16 years ago Cathal Gaffney and Darragh O’Connell founded Brown Bag Films. In a pre-digital era the pair set up the studios as a means of making their own films. The group was founded at a time when Ireland has the biggest animation industry in Europe with the ironic fact that none of the studios here were Irish-owned. The company has since moved from its hand-drawn and painted beginnings to boast a staff of 57 in its Dublin studios which are equipped with a state of the art High Definition picture and Audio post production facilities. Furthermore the group has, as of July this year, a new Hollywood-based office. IFTN caught up with co-founder and managing director Cathal Gaffney to talk about the future of the company and Irish animation as a whole. 
Working Title Fill Gary Shore's 'Cup of Tears'
17 Jun 2010 | Gary Shore (The Draught) put his blood, sweat and tears into a trailer for ‘Cup of Tears’, a live action version of Japanese animation. The short trailer did a rapid tour through hundreds of LA inboxes and now UK company Working Title have come on board to transform Shore’s trailer into a large scale feature film. The director spoke to IFTN about his project’s extraordinary journey thus far...
