Other TV highlights of this St. Patrick’s Day weekend include the RTÉ Choice Music Prize, the National St. Patrick’s Day Parade, The Late Late Show, Scotland v. Italy in the Six Nations, and the Dancing with the Stars finale.
RTÉ2 will lead their St. Patrick’s Day weekend programme with the RTÉ Choice Music Prize on Thursday, featuring performances from the five winning acts CMAT, Moncrieff, Fontaines DC, Sinead O’ Connor, and Cian Ducrot along with interviews by Bláthnaid Treacy.
The National St. Patrick’s Day Parade will air on Friday, March 17th at 12:15pm on RTÉ One and RTÉ Player. This year’s parade is driven by values of community, diversity, youth and sustainability, and features new artistic, interactive and aerial elements.
On Friday night Ryan Tubridy will celebrate the most Irish night of the year live on The Late Late Show with guests including Liam Neeson, as he marks his 100th movie, Kin cast members Clare Dunne, Maria Doyle Kennedy, Sam Keeley and Yasmin Seky and the writer of Derry Girls Lisa McGee.
Scotland takes on Italy this Saturday in the closing weekend of the Guinness Six Nations at 12 noon on RTÉ2. Jacqui Hurley is joined by Jamie Heaslip, Jerry Flannery and Stephen Ferris for live coverage of Scotland v Italy from Murrayfield.
The Dancing with the Stars champion will be crowned on Sunday night on RTÉ One, followed by the first episode of Kin series 2 premiering at 9:30pm. Series 1 of Kin is available to stream on RTÉ Player.
There will also be a pre-St Patrick’s Day show at St Patrick’s Well in Clonmel on Nationwide and special St. Patrick’s Day themed content on RTÉ Jr.
