The Faceless Lady is a VR horror series from ShinAwil, Meta, Crypt TV, and directed by Eli Roth. The upcoming series was shot in Ireland.
Irish production company ShinAwil, in partnership with Meta (formerly Facebook), director Eli Roth (Thanksgiving), and American entertainment company Crypt TV, will premiere their VR episodic series The Faceless Lady on April 4th in Meta Horizon Worlds. The Faceless Lady, the first live-action VR series, will premiere in stereoscopic (3D) and consist of six episodes, with one episode dropping every Thursday after the premiere.
The series is set in Ireland, and inspired by the 17th century Irish folktale of Lady Margaret Hodnett, who is said to haunt Cork’s Belvelly Castle by stalking visitors through mirrors and reflective surfaces. The Faceless Lady has been adapted to a contemporary setting, following three couples who have been invited to a medieval castle for a weekend competition in Ireland, where they will either win Lady Margaret’s games or lose their lives.
The cast includes Ned Dennehy (Calm with Horses), Daisy Jelley (How To Have Sex), Mei Henri (Hijack), Ugo Onwughalu (Riches), and Sophie Rebecca-Jones (Holby City). The Faceless Lady was shot in Charleville Castle, in County Offaly, and executive produced by Larry Bass and Aaron Farrel of ShinAwiL.
Also executive producing are Jack Davis and Brandl for Crypt TV, and director Roth.
Attendees can RSVP for the premiere in Meta Horizon Worlds, with the series available in the ‘Creepy Cabin’ world. For those not able to tune into episodes when they premiere in the Meta Horizon Worlds, the series can be watched on demand in VR on Meta Quest TV. Fans without a Meta Quest VR headset can view the first two episodes on Crypt TV’s Facebook page when they premiere in VR.
