Celtic Media Festival, The International Summit of Sound and Screen, has unveiled the venue for 2024 and announced the call for entries for the Torc Awards for Excellence.
In 2024, Celtic Media Festival makes a return to Cardiff for the first time since 2005. The 45th Edition will take place from 4th to the 6th of June at the Marriott Hotel, Cardiff City Centre.
The annual three-day industry summit is an opportunity for hundreds of media professionals from across the world to come together for seminars, workshops, panels and discussions and get up close to some of the biggest names in the industry. There’s also the CMF International Pitching Forum, which has a £10,000 development prize for the winning pitch.
Celebrating the best work from the Celtic nations and regions, 28 Torc awards will be presented at the Festival. 1 Gold Torc will be awarded to the Spirit of the Festival and 27 Torc Awards for Excellence will be awarded to the 'Best Of' category awards. Last year’s winners included the Oscar-nominated An Cailín Ciúin, and drama series Karen Pirie.
“After the success of Celtic Media Festival 2023, we can’t wait to bring the festival to Wales in 2024 and continue to showcase the fantastic work done by creators in the Celtic Nations and Regions,” said Catriona Logan, Festival Director. “We’re looking forward to seeing what amazing productions are in the running and are looking forward to welcoming everyone to the incredible city of Cardiff in 2024.”
Entries are open now with a deadline of Tuesday 31st October at 5pm.
