Since its establishment by Alan Moloney in 1993, Parallel Film Productions Ltd has illustrated consistent growth in both the film and television arenas, producing highly acclaimed projects with a host of internationally acclaimed and award winning writers, directors and cast.
With well established relationships with national, European and international partners, in both the private and public sector, Parallel has access to multiple sources of finance and distribution. As a result over the past years Parallel has put together a growing number of successful co-production structures and thereby bringing various feature film and high end TV projects to fruition.
Over the past five years Parallel films have produced a range of feature films: Triage, directed by Oscar-winner Danis Tanovic and starring Colin farrell, Paz Vega and Christopher Lee; Perriers Bounty directed by Ian FitzGibbon, starring Cillian Murphy, Jim Broadbent and Brendan Gleeson; The Escapist directed by Rupert Wyatt, starring Brian Cox, Liam Cunningham and Joseph Fiennes; and A Film With Me In It directed by Ian FitzGibbon starring Dylan Moran.
Parallel produced the seventh and final series of the enormously succesful medical drama The Clinic for RTÉ. This high rating drama went from strength to strength since its inception in 2003, a regular winner at the Irish Film & Telelvision Awards and the TV Now Awards. Parallel have also had success with ITVs Kingdom starring Stephen Fry.
Amongst other previous Parallel works are the award-winning Breakfast on Pluto, directed by Neil Jordan, starring Cillian Murphy and Liam Neeson; Intermission starring Colin Farrel, Cillian Murphy and Colm Meaney; The Last of the High Kings starring Jared Leto and Gabriel Byrne; and the highly acclaimed Beckett on Film series, involving a number of high calibre international directors including Anthony Minghella, David Mamet, Neil Jordan, Atom Egoyan, and international cast names such as Julianne Moore, Kristen Scott Thomas, Jeremy Irons, and John Hurt.
Other Television projects Parallel has been successful with include the drama Showbands for RTÉ, Sinners for RTÉ and BBC, as well as the mini-series Amongst Women and Falling for a Dancer.
