Andrew joined Northern Ireland Screen from a production background. After leaving school he spent a year out with the Belfast based production company HETV. He then went on to university to study film and television production. After working on several television dramas with BBC Northern Ireland, the BBC sent him to London to train as a Location Manager.
There followed location managing for BBC Television Drama, production managing of commercials and 1st AD on short films, mainly in the UK, as well as working on documentaries in Rwanda, Tanzania, USA, Turkey and Sri Lanka. In July 1997 he joined Norther Ireland Screen.

Responsible for development, production and skills funding; short film schemes; production award monitoring; physical production – locations, crews, cast and facilities; producer relations.
