Bingham Ray New Talent Award Nominees
The Galway Film Fleadh has released the names of the five nominees for the 2020 Bingham Ray New Talent Award. This year’s nominees have been shortlisted for their work in the fields of Producing, Animation, Directing, and Acting.

The 2020 nominees are James Fitzgerald, director (The Invisible Boy). Pink Kong Studios: Niamh Herrity, producer and Aoife Doyle, lead animator (The Dead Hands of Dublin), Lauren Coe, actor (Nocturnal), Emma Foley and Tamryn Renecke, producers (Redemption of a Rogue), Edwina Casey, director (Algorithm) and producer (Here are the Young Men).

The Bingham Ray New Talent Award is supported in association with Magnolia Pictures.

Independent film executive Bingham Ray, whose career spanned across October films, United Artists, and Sidney Kimmel, was a regular attendee to the Galway Film Fleadh annually. His affinity with the festival was said to have been solidified by the passion, drive, and independent spirit that was shown towards film by those working, and in turn, became the Fleadh’s greatest stalwart.

Bingham supported the festival by committing vast amounts of time to the mentoring of filmmakers over the years at the Fleadh. His efforts actively instilled confidence in aspiring filmmakers through listening, encouragement, advice, and belief.

The Irish film community benefited hugely from Bingham’s wealth of knowledge across the complete spectrum of the film industry and the many friendships that he made along the way is a testament to his generosity in sharing his experience.

The inaugural Bingham Ray New Talent Award was given to Gerard Barrett in 2012 by Bingham’s daughters, Annabel and Becca, for Pilgrim Hill, which also garnered Barrett the IFTA Rising Star Award.

The 32nd Galway Film Fleadh takes place from 7th-12thJuly online at GalwayFilmFleadh.com.

Tickets and further information for all films and events are now available at www.galwayfilmfleadh.com
