The Diet of Worms are Philippa Dunne, Amy Stephenson, Rory Connolly, Niall Gaffney and Shane Langan.
This five-piece troupe from Dublin is one of the most interesting and engaging young comedy acts working in Ireland today. Formed in 2006, they are now regulars on the Irish comedy circuit and have taken three full-length shows to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. (Their 2007 show, 'Diet of Worms on (Melted) Ice' was performed entirely in a swimming pool.)
The group has a cult following with their off-centre live performances, their monthly Puffincat Comedy Club, and the success of their YouTube series 'Dublin Stories', the precursor to the upcoming RTÉ Two comedy.
The Worms draw on a wide breadth of inspiration to create the group's distinct voice, from Peter Cook and Monty Python, through Steve Martin and Christopher Guest, and on to Graham Linehan and the League of Gentlemen.
