The film is in its second week of release in Ireland through Volta, and released in the UK over the weekend via BFI.
God’s Creatures debuted in the UK with £57,500 from 56 venues, and £69,900 including previews. At the domestic Irish box office the independent drama has accumulated €57,287. Overall, the film has grossed approximately €137,187 so far.
The film follows Aileen (Emily Watson), torn between protecting her son Brian (Paul Mescal) and her own sense of right and wrong. In providing a false alibi for him, their family and close-knit community are torn apart. Alongside Watson and Mescal in the lead roles, the film also stars Aisling Franciosi (The Nightingale), Andrew Bennett (An Cailín Ciúin), and Toni O’Rourke (Calm with Horses, Cardboard Gangsters).
