Wildcard Distribution and Signature Entertainment has announce that the heart-warming last loves romance My Sailor, My Love will open in cinemas across Ireland from Friday 10th March.
The theatrical release will follow the film’s Irish premiere at the Dublin International Film Festival on the 2nd March. The film was named among the Official Selection for the 47th Toronto International Film Festival last August where it made its world premiere.
When the right person comes along, anything can happen. My Sailor, My Love from Finnish director Klaus Härö, features a cast of acting veterans including multi-award-winning James Cosmo (Braveheart) and Bríd Brennan (Brooklyn), as well as Catherine Walker (A Dark Song) and Nora-Jane Noone (The Descent).
Set on the beautiful Achill Island off County Mayo, the film is a romantic tale of a second chance at love and the power of redemption. Becoming concerned about her father Howard (James Cosmo), Grace (Catherine Walker) hires a caretaker in the form of Annie (Bríd Brennan). As a result of his recluse nature, Howard initially rejects any help from Annie, but gradually the pair begin to bond, and Howard re-considers opening his heart to love and to be loved once more.
My Sailor, My Love is directed by Klaus Härö (Letters to Father Jacob) and written by Jimmy Karlson (Mother of Mine) and Kirsi Vikman (Mother of Mine). An Irish, Finnish and Danish co-production, My Sailor, My Love is produced by David Collins of Samson Films, Kai Nordberg and Kaarle Aho.
My Sailor, My Love opens in cinemas across Ireland on Friday 10th March.
