Kennedy Quay still operates commercially and has a number of interesting features for film makers – original, unrefurbished, stone warehouses and the R&H Hall; a giant concrete flour mill with the original Deco style building attached. A fantastic example of the period it is unaltered and intact, which makes it very attractive as a filming location. Adjacent is a huge concrete tower complex which is a more modern Mill and, although perhaps not the most aesthetically pleasing structure, is a towering monolith and landmark in the City. It exudes utilitarian, bleak and fading Industry and is therefore ideal for dark drama or documentary scenes.

The huge dilapidated machinery including an overhead enclosed conveyor belt and a big open quayside could also make this a fantastic place for police/detective car chases & shoot outs ‘Starsky & Hutch’ style! Could double for San Francisco docks any day. Horgan’s Quay opposite is an entirely bare strip of quay with great access and the visually interesting backdrop of Kennedy Quay.
