Created by UK-based Kindle Entertainment, 'The Life & Adventures of Nick Nickleby' is a modern re-working of the classic Charles Dickens novel of the same name. Developed by Kindle for the BBC, this 2012 production is set in the early 19th century and follows Nick Nickleby as he sets out to investigate corruption in a nursing home.
'Notes on a Scandal' actor Andrew Simpson plays Nickleby, with acclaimed Derry actress Bronagh Gallagher playing his mother. 'A Kiss for Jed' star Jayne Wisener and British actress Linda Bassett (Calendar Girls) all feature in the period drama.
David Innes-Edwards is directing all five episodes, four of which have been written by Joy Wilkinson (Doctors) and one which was written by Dominique Moloney (Land Girls).
