About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity for a TV executive who is passionate about content. This role will involve inputting into Virgin Media Television’s commissioning strategy across all platforms, working with a core team identifying and nurturing key commissions.

You will be a key part of the senior content team at Virgin Media Television in an exciting landscape of content evolution across our TV, Player and On Demand platforms.

Working in a dynamic and busy environment you will play a vital role in the commissioning area with a wide variety of projects and relationships to manage.

Reporting to the Head of Programming, this role will involve managing commissioning, contracts, budgets, materials and regulatory requirements.

Specific Duties & Tasks:

• Managing Commissions for all platforms – Managing Commissioning Portal and callouts, contracts and budgets, working with independent producers to develop new content, execing independent productions, managing delivery.
• Execing and resourcing in-house commissions
• Managing Distribution contracts
• Working with Commercial on AFP Commissions
• Managing Materials team
• Managing Library team
• Managing Access Services
• Representing Virgin Media on Screen Greening Ireland partnership.
• Managing Virgin Media Discovers Short Film Competition for Virgin Media Television

Skills & Expertise:

• A good understanding of the Irish TV landscape and a passion for content
• An understanding and interest in key TV genres such as formats and dramas with an interesting in and understanding of rights, financial models and partnerships
• A collaborative and innovative approach to their work
• Budget management experience
• Excellent organisation skills
• Experience dealing with contracts, payment and production schedules and cash flow management.
• Experience managing multiple projects in a busy environment
• Experience leading a variety of teams
• Understanding of rights and licencing of content
• Experience managing relationships with key regulatory and funding bodies as well as colleague broadcasters and Irish and International production companies and distributors
• Experience managing multiple funding partners in content production
• Experience of or an aptitude for software for content and contract management
