Boulder Media is accepting applications for the position of Background Keys

Role:Background Keys

Reporting to: Background Keys Supervisor

Responsibilities Include:

• Produce a set output per week as set out in the schedule and agreed with the BG Key Supervisor for any given project assigned to you.
• Ensure that all necessary materials are present before starting a scene, i.e. art director sketches, Concepts and an Animatic. Communicate with your team BG Key supervisor if materials are not available.
• Ensure that all Background Keys produced are of a consistently high standard. Ask the BG Key supervisor to review and approve before any scenes are saved into folders. Where changes are required, the changes must be made within the deadline set by the BG Key Supervisor. 
• Productivity is important as well as standard of work.  Where there are any difficulties meeting outputs and deadlines this must be discussed well ahead of deadline dates with the BG Key Supervisor. Workarounds and shortcuts will sometimes be necessary to meet budget requirements. 
• File management - Ensure work files and folders are organized efficiently and backed up.
• Ensure that all naming conventions are followed and that all Background Keys are set up correctly and in line with the established production system and requirements of the After Effects Department.
• Ensure that Background Keys saved on server are the latest and only version of that file on the server.
• Ensure when BG Keys are completed that the scene is exported in the correct format and in the correct folder for review and when approved.
• Ensure all photos or any other element used in the BG key not created by the BG Key artist used are declared on the Tracker provided by production so necessary copyright clearance can be sought. 
• Ensure that all retakes called by clients are followed and completed by the deadline given.

Person Specification:

• Excellent knowledge of Adobe Photoshop.
• Comfortable in working to tight deadlines.
• You must have excellent drawing skills with a great sense of colour, design, perspective, staging, camera placement and composition.
