The successful candidate will;

• Have a relevant third level qualification (such as IT, Engineering or an MSC/M.ENG) or qualified by experience in a similar role
• Have a thorough knowledge of broadcast technical standards and front line maintenance skills in a broadcast and an IT environment
• Have experience in managing and diagnosing faults in the broadcast environment and in high performance data networks
• Have experience of interoperability of broadcast data networks and secure business networks
• Have experience leading, managing and motivating mixed discipline teams in engineering and operations
• Have experience providing PC hardware and software support services for operating various system platforms including Microsoft Windows XP/Windows 7/Windows 2003 & 2008 Server.
• Have knowledge of how to provide support to popular office suites, email, web browsers and graphics applications.
• Have a good working knowledge of LAN/WAN concepts and the TCP/IP protoco
• Have a working knowledge of IT operating systems, e.g Linux, Windows etc
• Have working knowledge of Windows 2003/2008 Server operating systems, and 2003 active directory
• Have an understanding and experience of Web-based communications
  
• Have .NET experience, C# experience and robust database skills, particularly using SQL

Information and Communication

• To develop and implement a Company IT strategy to include the development and deployment of internal support policies and procedures
• Be responsible for the management and security of the company’s IT infrastructure covering client and server operations, LAN and telecoms
• Be responsible for the development and delivery of the Company’s bespoke Management Information System
• Be required to provide phone, email and hands-on technical support to users in a Windows environment
• Be responsible for the design and configuration of LAN's
• Be responsible for designing and updating the systems used for company internal and external communications

Technology

• To ensure the company has a robust and fully operational transmission and broadcast technology infrastructure
• To ensure the overall integrity of the companies broadcast archive and retrieval systems
• To negotiate and agree specifications and costing’s for purchasing and upgrading technical equipment in conjunction with department managers
• To develop and deliver broadcast technical and operational strategies and provide strategic direction as to the best use of resources
• To provide technical expertise, advice and guidance to non-technical managers and clients
• To keep abreast of technical developments and advise management on their relevance and impact on the business
• To develop and oversee the management of company maintenance methodologies and fault reporting systems
• Be responsible for asset management of all software, hardware and broadcast equipment belonging to the company and its clients
• Be responsible for hardware and software configuration (modem, NIC, I/O card, software, email, VPN, etc.)
• Be responsible/manage hardware and software troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs

Other

• To develop and maintain good working relationships with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders
• To participate in the full range of management activities as required and any duties commensurate with the post to fulfil business needs and operational requirements
• To manage projects within your responsible area and ensure they are delivered within timescale and budget
