Background
Pi Communications work on behalf of the Houses of the Oireachtas and are based in Kildare house, Kildare Street, Dublin 2.
We are responsible for televising of the Dáil, Seanad and Committees. We support six production galleries and a studio which produces material for broadcasters on a regular basis.
We are looking to recruit talented broadcast operatives to provide technical support to the galleries.
Job Purpose:
To provide production and operational assistance in production galleries and the studio for live production.
Pi Communications are interested in producing additional content to support a news and current affairs agenda. We are also interested in re-packaging the content produced in the unit for multiple outlets / platforms.
We are particularly interested in hearing from crew with experience in an ENG environment (Electronic News Gathering) in the field; shoot, edit or shoot/editors. Preference will be given to multi skilled operatives.
Person Specification : Skills, Knowledge and Experience
• You must have a proven track record of work experience within the industry
• A broadly based general knowledge with a developed interest in news and current affairs
• Knowledge of TV production techniques and operational systems
• Ability to work co-operatively as part of a small team
• Excellent Keyboard & IT Skills
• Well developed communication skills.
• To work as part of the Central Production team using developed systems and structures to ensure content is compliant, meets quality standards, and editorial requirements.
• To work to production deadlines and to anticipate, manage and resolve issues in an efficient and timely manner.
• Proven experience of prioritising, organising and managing a personal workload in an editorially dynamic and/or technically complex environment with tight deadlines and daily output.
• Proven interest in staying abreast of technological advances in broadcast industry.
