Lies We Tell DOP Eleanor Bowman has been nominated at Camerimage in the Cinematographers’ Debuts Competition.
Cinematographer Eleanor Bowman has been nominated in the Cinematographers’ Debuts Competition at Camerimage, the International Film Festival of the Art of Cinematography, for her work on Lies We Tell. Bowman received the Best Cinematography in an Irish Film award earlier this year at the Galway Film Fleadh, where Lies We Tell premiered.
Lies We Tell, written by Elisabeth Gooch and directed by Lisa Mulcahy, is a psychological thriller about Maud (Agnes O’Casey), an orphaned heiress living alone in an isolated manor, who must fight her Uncle (David Wilmot) for her inheritance and her life after he becomes her legal guardian.
“It’s been a long-held dream of mine to be a part of The Camerimage film festival, so I’m deeply grateful for the opportunity to have been involved in a project that has been recognised by the renowned festival,” said Bowman of her nomination.
“Their reputation for accepting only films of the highest standard is a testament to the incredible talent of the cast and crew of Lies We Tell. This nomination is a reflection of the collective effort and the expertise of everyone who made it possible.”
Camerimage was founded in 1993. This year it takes place in Toruń, Poland, from the 11th to 18th November 2023.
