The festival is based in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and since 2009 has endeavoured to honour the Irish heritage of many Americans through showcasing the best in Irish talent and cultural diversity each year.
This year’s lineup features landmark Irish titles of 2016, running from Friday July 29th–August 1st. Such titles include ‘Traders’ helmed by Rachael Moriarty and Peter Murphy, John Carney’s highly acclaimed musical drama ‘Sing Street’, and Risteard O’Domhnaill’s documentary ‘Atlantic’.
Classic title ‘The Quiet Man’ is accompanied by 2015 title ‘You’re Ugly Too’ starring Aidan Gillen. The 1916 centenary will also be honoured with a screening of ‘1916: The Irish Rebellion’, narrated by ‘Michael Collins’ star Liam Neeson, and followed by the Irish Film Board’s ‘After 16’ short film collection.
