Niamh Algar (Mary & George) and Tom Hollander (White Lotus) are leading a Sky-produced thriller series about a code-breaking genius from Neil Cross (Luther).
Niamh Algar and Tom Hollander are set to lead Iris, a new code-breaker thriller series from Luther creator Neil Cross. Algar and Hollander are joined by a cast that includes Meréana Tomlinson (The Trials), Sacha Dhawan (Doctor Who), Maya Sansa (Good Morning Night), Peter Sullivan (Poldark) and Debi Mazar (Entourage). Iris will start shooting later this month in Sardinia.
Iris follows the titular character, a code-breaking genius (Algar) who steals a code from philanthropist Cameron McIntyre (Hollander) and goes on the run. Armed only with her intelligence and charm, she must work out what the code could unleash before she is found.
The series will be directed by Terry McDonough (Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul) and Sarah O’Gorman (The Witcher, The Last Kingdom). Iris is a Sky Studios and Fremantle co-production. The series will start shooting later this month in Sardinia
Susan E. Connolly and Ian Scott McCullough are writing episodes. Executive producers are Cross, McDonough; Dante Di Loreto and Jenni Sherwood for Fremantle, and Adrian Sturges for Sky Studios.
Sky has UK, Ireland, Italy, Germany, Switzerland and Austria rights. Fremantle will sell internationally.
