Founded in 1997, The Moore School of Performing Arts (MSPA) has been running successfully in Skerries for the last 19 years. They teach boys and girls age 3-20yrs.

MSPA caters for every kind of child, the enthusiast who wants to pursue a career in the Performing Arts Business, or the child who just wants to develop their self-confidence, rhythm and inner creativity.

MSPA teaches a wide variety of Dance and Drama, which include Musical Theatre, Tap, Jazz Funk & Contemporary, Creative Drama, Page to Stage Drama and Exam Drama. (Exams are with RIAM).

All their classes are based around their mission statement and that is “To have fun around a friendly atmosphere”, and that’s exactly what happens at MSPA. Friends are made for life.

MSPA have arranged various workshops for our students over the years in Film and TV Acting/Audition Technique.

Theatre

Westend Productions include: - The complete cast of orphans in The Musical ‘Annie’ with Chris Moreno Productions in 2005 & 2007 staring Ruth Madoc as Miss Hannigan at the Olympia Theatre and again in Sept 2011 at the Gaiety Theatre; Chip in ‘Beauty and the Beast’; -at the Olympia Theatre; ‘Fagin’s Gang in ’Oliver’, Michael Darling in ‘Peter Pan’ ,‘The Kind & I’ , Young Fiona in ‘Shrek the Musical’ and ‘Chitty Chitty Bang Bang–at Bord Gais Energy Theatre.

Other Theatre Productions: Real Theatre Company’s production of’’ Les Miserables – Cosette & Gavouche’; Festival Productions, ‘Tiny Tim in ‘The Christmas Carol’ –‘Annie’- ‘ Dodger & Oliver in ‘Oliver’ –‘The Wizard of Oz’- ‘Frederick, Kurt & Martha Von Trapp in The sound of Music’ –; Rush Musical Society, ‘Bielke & Shprintze in ‘Fiddler on the Roof’ which went to Sweden and The Gaiety Theatre ; South Eastern Youth Theatre Production - Master Thernardier in ‘Les Miserables’ ;

MSPA Students have been involved with Portmarnock Musical and Drama society in “Evita”, Glasnevin Musical Society “Sister Act” and the Rush Musical Society with various productions including their 2016 show “Seussical the Musical”.

MSPA Students have also taken part in The Entrepreneurs Awards at Citiwest Hotel and NFTE Awards in The Helix Theatre for the past 4 years.

MSPA have also provided Jim Molloy Promotions, Festival Productions, Pat Egan and Spotlight Productions, Rush Musical Society, Alan Hughes’s Pantomimes and Claire Tighe with both teens and children for their chorus in many productions over the years.

MSPA has been working closely with MT4Uth (Musical Theatre for Youth) in Belfast over a 5 year period. They co-ran an annual Boot camp in Skerries where a team of professionals from London’s West-end worked with the students to produce a well-known musical in 5 days. We also have some MSPA Students who take part in their workshops in Belfast each year.

 In October 2015, MSPA staged a hugely successful production of ‘Les Miserables School Edition’ in the Helix Theatre, DCU, Dublin.

TV/Commerical

Students have also been successful in TV commercials for the following Euro packs, Kellogg’s, the credit union, National Dairy Council, Tesco & Intel to name but a few.

Drama/TV/Movie

Main part in ‘Kill your Idol’, ‘The Importance of Being Whatever’, ‘The New Boy’,’ Featured parts in ‘The Clinic’, ‘Food Guide to Love’, ‘Main part in ‘Tog Mise Leat’, ‘ TG4’s 1916 Seachtar Anaithnaid,’ ‘George Gently’, ‘Featured part in ‘Badly Drawn Roy’, RTE Junior’s ‘Forest Force’, ‘The Beo Show’, ‘Kazoo’, ‘Move It’ & ‘Meet the Orchestra’

When you register with MSPA agency, they act as your agent. MSPA will do their utmost to secure auditions for their clients, in castings for TV, Film, Theatre, Voice over’s, Photo Shoots etc. Although on many occasions the student may not get selected after auditioning, it is a great and worthwhile experience for every individual.

West Side Story

The Moore School of Performing Arts (MSPA), together with Sean Gilligan Performing Arts will stage ‘West Side Story’ this September in the Helix theatre, DCU. The show will run from Tuesday 26th – Saturday 1st October with shows at 7.30pm each evening and 2.30pm on Saturday 1st.
