IFTUK has announced a series of industry events titled ‘Master at Work’ hosted by IFTUK’s Director of Production and Broadcasting Peter Curran. They have also appointed Nicola A Waddell as Director of Sponsorship.
Irish Film & TV UK (IFTUK) have announced a partnership with London’s Century Club today producing monthly industry workshops, Masters at Work. Every month, Irish Radio 4 Presenter and IFTUK’s Director of Production & Broadcasting, Peter Curran, will be hosting an evening with award-winning talents from the world of international film and TV production at The Century. These events will feature a range of industry professionals including writers, directors, actors, composers, cinematographers, agents, and producers, all sharing their experiences on everything from major Hollywood franchises to independent passion projects.
The pilot workshop in April saw Peter Curran meet with Adam Gee, Emmy and 6-time BAFTA winning producer and commissioning editor. Gee’s most recent scripted project is a futuristic drama co-produced by Ben Affleck and Matt Damon. Adam commissioned at Channel 4, Little Dot Studios, Red Bull Media and CAA (Creative Artists Agency). The Workshops are ticketed but free to attend.
On June 28th, Peter Curran will be meeting Irish Composer David Arnold, whose credits include scoring five James Bond films alongside scores for Stargate, Independence Day, Zoolander, and TV series’ Sherlock and Good Omens. Arnold has collaborated with a wide range of international artists such as Björk, Shirley Bassey, and Massive Attack.
Irish Film & TV have also announced today the appointment of Nicola A Waddell as Director of Sponsorship. As a showrunner and executive producer, Waddell has produced and directed feature length specials, documentaries, studio talk shows and factual entertainment series, working with talent ranging from Graham Norton to Michelin-starred chefs and delivering projects for Channel Four UK, BBC, ITV, SKY, Discovery (US), CNBC (US & EMEA), Nat Geographic (US), MTV Italia, S4C Sweden, Canal Plus, and Channel 9 Australia. Waddell is currently developing a drama slate in association with HTM, Northern Ireland Screen and a US streamer. Waddell also mentors two junior television production mentees as part of Women Breaking Barriers (NI) and volunteers with The Mix (mental health charity for young people).
