The Frames singer and star of award-winning film ‘Once’, Glen Hansard, is set to compose and perform the title track ‘I’m Not There’ for Todd Haynes' (Far From Heaven) new Dylan bio-pic, of the same name. Hansard’s song, recently recorded in Ireland by The Frames guitarist Rob Bochnik, will also feature his ‘Once’ co-star Marketa Irglova.
The biopic uses seven characters to portray Dylan at different stages in his career, and will star Christian Bale, Marcus Carl Franklin, Ben Whishaw, Heath Ledger, Richard Gere and Cate Blanchett. It's the first biographical feature project to secure the approval of the pop culture icon.
Due to premiere Stateside in November, the soundtrack also features Roger McGuinn, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Calexico, My Morning Jacket, Sufjan Stevens and Willie Nelson.
Glen and The Frames are set to play support on Dylan’s tour of New Zealand and Australia between August 8th and 23rd.
