‘All is By My Side’ is co-produced by Irish producer Tristan Orpen Lynch for Dublin-based production company Subotica Entertainment (with credits including ‘Young Ones’, which screened at Sundance, and ‘Gold’, which will be showing at JDIFF). It was shot in Dublin and Wicklow with pre-production in Wicklow.
The film stars Outcast’s Andre 3000 as the iconic figure (IFTN reported the story – see here) and is set between 1966 and 1967, key years to the development of the rock star’s career. It is directed and written by John Ridley, who is currently receiving critical acclaim for his screenplay for ’12 Years a Slave’.
Terry McMahon’s ‘Patrick’s Day’ is another Irish film that will see its premiere at the Texan festival (read the full story here).
The date for the screening of ‘All is By My Side’ at the Texan festival is yet to be confirmed.
