Making the Cut

Industry Guests attend Bow Street Graduation Showcase
07 Jul 2017 :
The annual graduation ceremony took place at the Lighthouse Cinema in Dublin on Thursday, with directors, producers, agents, casting directors and industry guests in attendance.

Bow Street’s strong reputation for provided highly trained screen actors was again evident in the high standard of work on display from the students on the full time Programme for Screen Acting.

Artistic Director Shimmy Marcus took the opportunity to thank the incredibly hard working staff and tutors at Bow Street. “When we left The Factory 3 years ago we had 28 graduating students. This year we will graduate 50 full time students and over 100 Part Time Students.”

With the success of recent graduates, Bow Street continues to set the bar for actor training in Ireland. Programme alumni Seana Kerslake and Charleigh Bailey were both IFTA nominated this year for A Date for Mad Mary with Charleigh Bailey winning. Niamh Algar won the Discovery Award at this year’s Dublin International Film Festival, while 3 of this year’s IFTA Rising Star Nominations trained at Bow Street. There will also be at least 60 recent graduates appearing across many Features and Shorts at this year’s Galway Film Fleadh including Michael Inside, The Drummer and the Keeper, Writing Home, The Limit Of and many more.

Later this month in collaboration with Screen Training Ireland they will run a Directing Actors course aimed at filmmakers looking to develop their creative projects and vision, and get more direct experience and guidance on working with actors.
