Busy Evening For Mind The Gap As 'Brendan O’Connor's Cutting Edge' & 'Healthy Appetite' Air On RTÉ
18 Apr 2018 : Nathan Griffin
Mind The Gap has a busy evening ahead as Pamala Flood’s ‘Healthy Eating’ debuts on RTÉ One followed by Brendan O’Connor’s ‘Cutting Edge’, which continues its third season on the national broadcaster.

‘Healthy Eating’, which is presented by healthy food guru Pamela Flood follows two chefs who will compete against each other as they transform restaurant signature dishes into healthier alternatives. Each chef will have their chosen dishes deconstructed by dietician Aveen Bannon, before presenting their newly devised, health conscious meals to a panel of judges. The debut episode will see Gary O'Hanlon take on Kate Lawlor. The show kicks off at 8:30pm on RTÉ One.

Mind The Gap will return to RTÉ’s screens once more following the nine o’clock RTÉ News with TV personality Brendan O'Connor and his three regular panellists returning for another instalment of Brendan O’Connor’s ‘Cutting Edge’. The IFTA winning no nonsense panel show prides itself on taking a provocative and entertaining look at the week's news from Ireland and around the world, from the big stories, to the nuggets of information that may have escaped the public's attention.

Executive Producer on both shows, Bill Hughes of Mind The Gap told IFTN:

“Cutting Edge has firmly established itself as must-see TV every Wednesday night providing Ireland with an abundance of water-cooler moments. Currently coming to the end of our third series we are so proud that our award-winning show has been critically acclaimed for its stimulating mix of irreverent commentary, intelligent engagement, robust debate and occasional emotionally charged personal revelations. Brendan O’Connor is the perfect host and ringmaster for this heady cocktail and he shines brilliantly in the role.”

“Healthy Appetite is an exciting brand new tv cooking format that will entertain and educate the audience with mouth-watering dishes, as the country’s top chefs take us into their kitchens to demonstrate their most decadent signature dishes before re-imagining them as the healthy option under the watchful eyes of our esteemed panel – Dietician Aveen Bannon, Michelin Star Chef Adam Byatt and food-writer Ross Golden Bannon. Presented by Pamela Flood, this 8 part series will be prove unmissable for everyone who loves good food. “

‘Healthy Eating’ debuts on RTÉ One at 8:30pm, which is closely followed by ‘Brendan O’Connor’s Cutting Edge’ at 9:35pm following the RTÉ News.
