24 May 2011 :
Euro-Med
The Euro-Mediterranean Documentary market is currently inviting submissions. The 12th edition of the market event will return in October 7th – 9th in Spain and is accepting both project proposals and completed documentaries to pitch at the festival. Last year’s event saw 25 documentary projects from 13 countries and 350 + documentary programmes presented to a select group of European broadcasters and distributors.

Filmmakers are currently being invited to submit their project ideas, free of charge, to the festival organisers. Those looking to submit must include the application form - click here - together with a complete treatment of the project within 5 pages; a crew list and budget information. Applicants must also include a work-in- progress reel of their proposed project, at least three minutes in length. The ideas submitted should also have at least 25% of the required funding in place and/or a broadcast or co-production agreement.

Those with completed projects can also submit these free of charge for the festival screening programme. Entrants need to submit an entry form - click here - along with three DVD copies of their project and a high quality production still. The projects also need to be single independent documentaries produced in the EU and the Southern Mediterranean countries in 2010/ 2011.

The final date for entries in both categories is June 30th 2011. The Euro-Mediterranean Documentary market will take place from the 7th to the 9th of October in Sitges (Spain). Festival organizers will screen a selection of documentary projects and programmes, with the aim of enhancing the professional and creative exchange between the 12 MEDA countries and the European Union. This year’s event will also look to offer a roster of networking opportunities, industry conference sessions and market events and services, as well as screenings of contemporary documentaries from the EU and the Southern Mediterranean countries.
