IFTA Announces Allan Cubitt Masterclass in Association with Screen Skills Ireland

The Award-winning Writer/Director is taking part in an IFTA Masterclass to share his knowledge and expertise in writing and directing. 

Participants in the Masterclass will hear first-hand from the critically acclaimed Writer/Creator about his transition into Directing and about writing/directing across his most recent feature and drama projects.
 
Cubitt was the creator, writer & director of the award-winning psychological drama ‘The Fall', for which he won the Best British Crime Writing Award in 2015. His key credits include; 'Death and Nightingales', 'The Fall', 'Prime Suspect II', 'Sherlock Holmes - The Hound of the Baskervilles', 'Murphy’s Law', 'The Hanging Gale', 'Painted Lady' and 'The Boys Are Back' among others and he has received multiple IFTA and BAFTA nominations across his 30-year career in film and television.
 
The Masterclass is described as: “an invaluable opportunity to get first-hand knowledge, direction, and advice from a leading screen creator, in his capacity as Writer and Director.” 

“Allan will provide insight into his approach and methodology to both writing and directing; working from scriptwriting to directing; his interpretation of the process, discipline, and skill required across each role; working with the team; determining format and shooting style to drive the narrative visually. Case study clips will be used from Allan’s work.” 
 
The Masterclass is for established (& upcoming) Irish directors and Irish writers who are working with Drama scripts and for Irish writers who will go on to direct their own material in the future.
