IFTN caught up with Egg to take a look at all of the current, completed, and recently released projects that they have been working on.

Don’t Let Go follows a loving couple, Ben and Hazel Slater, as they struggle to cope with the loss of their child from a devastating accident. The science fiction title directed by David Gleeson (Tolkien) has just finished up production in the West of Ireland, with a cast including Melissa George (Gray’s Anatomy), Stephen Dorff (Blade)

Eavan Boland (Documentary)

Irish poet Eavan Boland has been called ‘the first great woman poet, in the history of Irish poetry’ and was once described by a distinguished American critic as ‘one of the finest and boldest poets of the last half-century’. She is quite literally a national treasure, yet even in Ireland, so little is known about her. This new documentary from Icebox Films sets out to address this contradiction with the first major and in-depth, exploration of her life and work. Currently shooting documentary for RTE.

Capt’n Sharky (Feature Animation)


Sharky is unable to read, write, or even count properly. But those things aren’t important to “the terror of the seas!” and are offset by a huge ego.
With Mikey, a normal young boy who’s ordered life has broken out into a completely new direction due to Sharky’s spontaneity, and Bonnie, a troubleshooting girl who tends to assume command in every situation much to Sharky’s dismay, the will enjoy seafaring adventures of plunder, pillage and piracy as they thwart the plans of arch enemies the admiral and old Bill the Pirate. Along the way, they will explore themes of friendship, fairness, loyalty, tolerance and what it means to be a crew

Nowhere Fast (TV Drama Series)


Fresh from a disaster in her media career in the big smoke, Angela the main lead (played by Alison Spittle) goes home to lick her wounds and plan her next move. With a razor-sharp script and a stellar cast, RTÉ2 viewers can expect lots of drinking in fields and mates having meltdowns, with mammy at home to pick up the pieces.

Ends Meet (12 x 12 mins Animated Series)
 

Created and Written by Mark Baldwin, 'Ends Meet' is an adult animated comedy series where Beezer, his Grandda Tony, and his kid Sean Óg must fight tooth and nail against the ever-increasing odds and do whatever they can to make Ends Meet. Produced by Ruth Carter, Blue Ink Films with Niamh Herrity, Pink Kong Studios and directed by Mark Baldwin, Gareth Lyons, and Aoife Doyle.

Grace Harte (TV Drama - Miniseries)

Grace Harte feels stranded in a passionless marriage. She feels that by upgrading the hotel she runs with her husband Leo, she may inject new life into their relationship. Leo sees no need to upgrade the hotel and seems consigned to the state they are in. Where Grace sees stasis, Leo sees stability. The arrival of Danny, a young surfer, is the catalyst for a series of violent events that will change all of their lives forever.

Trauma (4 part factual documentary for RTE)


The series is largely focused on trauma but brings in other aspects of care. Filming commenced recently, with the involvement of four hospitals in Dublin: Beaumont Hospital, St Vincent’s University Hospital, the Mater Hospital and Tallaght Hospital.

Muse (Feature Film)
 

Horror film by Catalonian director Jaume Balagueró - Samuel Salomon, a literature professor, has been off work for almost a year after the tragic death of his girlfriend. Samuel has been suffering from a recurring nightmare in which a woman is brutally murdered by a strange ritual. Suddenly, the same woman who appears every night in his dreams is found dead in exactly the same circumstances. Samuel sneaks into the crime scene and there he meets Rachel who has also dreamed about the murder. Together, they will do whatever they can to discover the identity of the mystery woman, entering a terrifying world controlled by the figures who have inspired artists throughout time: The Muses.
