‘Ray Donovan’ Actor Cathal Pendred to take leading role in ‘Lore’ Adaptation for Amazon

‘Lore’ is a critically acclaimed horror podcast which was created by Aaron Mahnke in 2015 and has an average of 6 million monthly listeners. It recounts true stories of frightening and paranormal occurrences and will see Pendred take the leading role of Michael Cleary, a real-life character from Irish folklore.

The Irish actor was previously a UFC fighter has also featured in ‘Into The Badlands’, ‘Peaky Blinders’ and Mark O’Connor’s upcoming ‘Cardboard Gangsters’ which releases in Ireland on June 16th.

Pendred also features in Ron Scalpello’s (My Name Is Lenny) and ‘Black Water’ from Pasha Patriki, both in post production.

‘Lore’ is set to be produced by Howard Young, with Gale Anne Hurd, Brett-Patrick Jenkins, Aaron Mahnke, Howard T. Owens and Ben Silverman as executive producers.

Other cast members include Robert Patrick (Eloise), John Byner (The Kustomonsters Movie) Sandra Ellis Lafferty (Another Day in Paradise) Steve Coulter (Manhunt: Unabomber) and Nadine Lewington (Containment) to name a few.

Synopsis
A cooper who makes barrels for a local creamery, Michael is married to the younger Bridget. When Bridget starts making more money than he does, and starts questioning his decisions, Michael is convinced that his loving wife has been replaced by a changeling — and he will do anything to prove himself right.
