A new Irish language programme ‘Turas Bóthair’, is bringing together all those chit-chat car conversations to the camera. Viewers of the new 6-part series produced by Waddell Media Teo for TG4 will get an insight into the everyday conversations which take place in various car journeys across Ireland.
Across the six episodes, which start on Thursday 4th May at 9.30pm on TG4 and are also repeated every Monday night from 8th May at 11.30pm, we will meet friends Maria and Ciarán from Dublin; Bairbre and Katie from Conamara; Daithí and Criostóir from Co. Mayo and Aoife and Méabh from Belfast.
The series was filmed on location in Counties Donegal, Dublin, Cork, Kerry, Galway and Antrim and features a variety of the above drivers and passengers who reveal and engage in details of their personal lives throughout the course of the series.
The various cars and passengers making their journeys across Ireland were rigged with cameras for the filming allowing viewers to eavesdrop on what it is they are really talking about.
In the first episode of this car pool conversations style Irish show we hear views on Tinder, marriage and cosmetic surgery while one passenger shares her experience of coping with cancer.
The show which has received funding from Northern Ireland Screen’s Irish Language Broadcast Fund, will air on Thursday 4th May at 9.30pm on TG4.
