The Young Offenders return to RTÉ for Season Two on Monday, November 11th

Alex Murphy and Chris Walley in The Young Offenders.
Conor McSweeney and Jock O’Keeffe will make their long awaited return to Irish screens next week with RTÉ confirming that the opening episode of Season 2 will air on Monday, November 11th at 9:30pm on RTÉ2.

The Young Offenders debuted on BBC3 on Sunday, November 3rd with all episodes of Season Two now available on the BBC iPlayer.

The Young Offenders series two continues where series one left off telling the coming of age adventures of loveable rogues Conor and Jock and their mother/guardian Mairead as she tries to keep them on the straight and narrow (Alex Murphy, Chris Walley, and Hilary Rose, reprising their roles), with friendship, loyalty, laughter and lots of mischief.  The best friends navigate their awkward teenage years, hatching plans and adventures to help distract from their tough home lives and their inability to stay out of trouble at school, with the new complications of sustaining relationships and impending new arrival.

The comedy series, created by Peter Foott, expands on characters already seen in the smash-hit series one, as we watch the lads encountering love, loss, peer pressure, and morality, with each episode set in Cork, Ireland.  The Young Offenders is foremost a comedy and is packed with laughter, but it’s also tender with lots of heart.

In episode one of the new series, everyone is anxious about the impending arrival, particularly Jock.  A challenge from Principal Walsh puts not only Jock, but everyone involved under even more pressure.  But everyone discovers they’re capable of things they never thought possible.

The series also features PJ Gallagher as a harried school principal and father to Demi Isaac Oviawe (Linda) and Jennifer Barry (Siobhán), alongside anti-hero Billy Murphy, played by Shane Casey. The six-part series was written and directed by Peter Foott, produced by Martina Niland, and was produced by Vico Films for BBC3 and BBC Comedy, in association with RTÉ.

The Young Offenders Season 2 begins on Monday, November 11th at 9:30 pm on RTÉ2.
