Irish-Belgian Co-Production The Other Lamb Selected for 67th San Sebastian Film Festival
23 Aug 2019 : News Desk
Raffey Cassidy in The Other Lamb
Malgorzata Szumowska’s The Other Lamb has been selected for the man competition section of the 67th edition of the San Sebastian Film Festival.

Pegged as a as a haunting and nightmarish tale, The Other Lamb centres on a young girl born into an alternative religion known as the Flock that consists of an all-female congregation led by a charismatic preacher known only as Shepherd. The film follows its protagonist as she grows sceptical of the preachers leadership and challenges him following a supernatural event.

Supported by Screen Ireland, The Other Lamb is the English-language debut of critically acclaimed and Silver Bear-winning director Małgorzata Szumowska. Written by Australian screenwriter Catherine S McMullen, the film stars Raffey Cassidy (Vox Lux), Michiel Huisman (Game of Thrones) and Denise Gough (Paula).

The film is produced by Aoife O’Sullivan and Tristan Orpen Lynch of Subotica Productions alongside Stephanie Wilcox and Academy Award-nominee David Lancanster of Rumble Films, in association with Zentropa and in co-production with Umedia.

The film has also been selected to premier as part of the Special Presentation strand at the Toronto International Film Festival, which runs from September 5th to 15th.
