Paddy Breathnach's Critically Acclaimed Housing Drama 'Rosie' Available on DVD and Digital from April 5th
25 Mar 2019 : News Desk
Sarah Greene in Paddy Breathnach's 'Rosie'.
Following its recent acclaimed theatrical release in the UK, Element Distribution has announced that ‘Rosie’ will be available on DVD & Digital in Ireland and the UK on April 5th and 8th respectively.

A sobering portrayal of the Irish housing crisis currently taking place in the country, ‘Rosie’ tells the story of a mother trying to protect her family after their landlord sells their rented home and they become homeless. Over 36 hours, Rosie and her partner John Paul strive to find somewhere to stay while shielding their young family from the reality of the situation around them. ‘Rosie’ examines how even in times of crises; the love and strength of a family can endure.

‘Rosie’ tracks a normal family faced with impossible choices and exposes just how easy it is to slip through the cracks.  Directed by Paddy Breathnach, the film was written by award-winning Irish novelist Roddy Doyle and stars Sarah Greene (‘Black 47’, ‘Penny Dreadful’) and Moe Dunford (‘Vikings’, ‘Handsome Devil’).

‘Rosie’ will be available digitally from a range of platforms, including iTunes, Virgin Media, Sky, Amazon, Google Play and Volta.  Irish DVD stockists include Tesco, Supervalu, Tower Records, Golden Discs, Amazon, Easons, and HMV and FOPP stores in the UK.

‘Rosie’ made its world premiere last September at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) and was subsequently named as one of The Hollywood Reporter Critics’ 25 favourite films from the Fall festivals.

‘Rosie’ is produced by Emma Norton, Rory Gilmartin, and Juliette Bonass. Roddy Doyle serves as Executive Producer alongside Ed Guiney and Andrew Lowe for Element Pictures. Dearbhla Regan is executive producer for Screen Ireland.

The film was shot in Dublin and is backed by Fís Éireann/Screen Ireland, the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland, RTÉ and Element Pictures Distribution.
