Following on from their success earlier this week at the Golden Globes, Oscar contenders The Banshees of Inisherin and Everything, Everywhere, All At Once have both made history by earning five nominations each at this year’s SAG Awards.

No project has received more than five nominations in the history of the organisation, which now ties Banshees and Everything, Everywhere with previous record holders Shakespeare in Love (1998), Chicago (2002), and Doubt (2008), for most nominations.

Both The Banshees of Inisherin and Everything, Everywhere, All At Once have earned the major nomination for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture. The ensemble category also includes Steven Spielberg’s autobiographical family drama The Fablemans, Damien Chazelle’s Babylon, and Sarah Polley’s Women Talking, starring Jessie Buckley.

In a similar fashion to the Golden Globes, all on Martin McDonagh’s film has continued its impressive feat of nominations for each of its leading cast. Four roles that the writer/director developed with each specific actor in mind, as McDonagh told IFTN when speaking about the film.

Colin Farrell follows on his Golden Globes success with a SAG nomination for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role. He is nominated alongside Austin Butler (Elvis), Brendan Fraser (The Whale), Bill Nighy (Living), and Adam Sandler (Hustle).

Kerry Condon earns her first SAG nomination with recognition in the Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role category. Fellow nominees in the category alongside Condon include Angela Bassett (Black Panther: Wakanda Forever), Hong Chau (The Whale), Jamie Lee Curtis (Everything Everywhere All at Once), and Stephanie Hsu (Everything Everywhere All at Once).

Brendan Gleeson and Barry Keoghan both earn recognition with nominations for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role. Paul Dano (The Fabelmans), Ke Huy Quan (Everything Everywhere All at Once), and Eddie Redmayne (The Good Nurse) round out that category.

The ceremony takes place on February 26th in Los Angeles.
