One year after the events of Angela’s Christmas, we discover Angela and her siblings desperately missing their father before the holidays. Angela comes up with a plan – she will bring their father home from Australia for Christmas. Depicted in stunning CG animation, Angela’s Christmas Wishis a heart-warming story of a determined little girl who sets out on an adventure to reunite her family in time for Christmas.

Damien O’Connor, Writer and Director of Angela’s Christmas said: “The team at Brown Bag Films worked so hard to create another magical and heart-warming family film for all to enjoy this Christmas. We really hope that Angela’s new story helps to bring these beloved characters to a whole new audience.”

Brown Bag Films have re-created Limerick on screen with a host of characters led by Angela, who will entertain the whole family this Christmas on RTÉ. The sheer talent on show, from the quality of the animation to the voice cast, is a true showcase of the best of Irish talent.”

Based on the beloved characters by Pulitzer Prize-winning author Frank McCourt (Angela’s Ashes) and produced by 9 Story’s Oscar® nominated animation studio Brown Bag Films, the film will reunite fans with characters from the original Angela’s Christmas while introducing a few new friends along the way.

Written and directed by Damien O’Connor (Doc McStuffins, Butterbean’s Café) for Brown Bag Films, the sequel further develops some of the most adored characters as fans join in on their new adventure. Lucy O’Connell reprises her role as Angela and Oscar® nominated Ruth Negga (Loving, Ad Astra) returns as Angela’s strong and loving mother. Jared Harris (Chernobyl, Mad Men and The Crown) and Caitríona Balfe (Outlander and Ford V. Ferrari) also join the cast. Other Irish actors in the cast include Moe Dunford, Pat Kinevane, Janet Moran and Don Wycherley, whilst Damien O’Connor’s young daughter Anya O’Connor takes on the role of young Angela in a cameo appearance.

Angela’s Christmas Wish features an original song written by Darren Hendley (Octonauts, Give Up Yer Aul Sins and Angela’s Christmas) and performed by 15-year-old vocal talent Allie Sherlock, an Irish singer, songwriter, guitarist and busker, who became globally recognized after her 2017 performance of Ed Sheeran’s Supermarket Flowers went viral.

Angela’s Christmas debuted on RTE TV Christmas Eve 2017, garnering 3 Emmy® nominations, a Parent’s Choice Gold Award and the Dove Seal of Approval.
