UK Rights to PJ Harvey Documentary 'A Dog Called Money' Acquired by MUBI
17 May 2019 : News Desk
A Dog Called Money
Seamus Murphy’s PJ Harvey documentary, ‘A Dog Called Money’, has been sold by documentary specialist Autlook to the international streaming service MUBI for the UK.

The uniquely told ‘A Dog Called Money’ follows award-winning Irish photographer Seamus Murphy and two-time Mercury Prize-winning musician PJ Harvey as they travel the world seeking inspiration for her 2016 album ‘The Hope Six Demolition Project’.

The collaboration culminates in Somerset House, London, where Harvey constructed the album based on their travels as a live sound sculpture in a purpose-built recording studio, open to the public. Murphy exclusively documents the journey from source, to song, to cinema.

Murphy also produced the film alongside Katie Holly for Irish production company Blinder Films. Isabel Davis and James Wilson also produce for Pulse Films and JW Films respectively. Screen Ireland also financed the film alongside Great Point Media and ATC Management.

‘A Dog Called Money’ had its world premiere at the Berlinale and will make its UK premiere at Sheffield Doc/Fest in early June. MUBI is also expected to announce a theatrical release with plans for a day and date cinema and VOD release

Autlook has also sold ‘A Dog Called Money’ to Non-Stop (Nordics), Madman (Australia and New Zealand), Beat (CIS), Zeta Films (Brazil), Against Gravity (Poland), Avalon (Spain), Just Wanted (Italy), Stadtkino (Austria), B Side (Taiwan) and Leopardo Films (Portugal).

Autlook will also present the documentary to buyers at this year’s Cannes film festival, which takes place from 14-25 May.
