The new Irish drama from playwright and screenwriter Mark O’Rowe (Debris) has wrapped filming in Dublin with a cast which includes Cillian Murphy (Anthropoid) Andrew Scott (Sherlock), Eva Birthistle (Brooklyn) and Catherine Walker (Patrick’s Day).
The project is produced by Alan Moloney and Ruth Coady of Parallel Films, with Dixie Linder and Nick Marston of Cuba Pictures executive producing.
Irish and UK distribution rights to the project have been acquired by Element Pictures Distribution. Worldwide sales is being handled by Protagonist Pictures.
‘The Delinquent Season’ follows Jim and Danielle as they and friends Yvonne and Chris are both forced to re-evaluate their respective marriages and friendships.
Murphy and O’Rowe have previously collaborated on the multi-award winning ‘Intermission,’ which received no less than twelve nominations from the Irish Film & Television Academy in 2003, taking home four awards for Best Irish Film (Alan Moloney, Neil Jordan), Best Film Director (John Crowley), Best Script (Mark O’Rowe) and Best Supporting Actor Film/TV (David Wilmot).
The film has the support of the Irish Film Board, RTE and the BFI.
