Tom Vaughan-Lawlor has had a very busy year working on a host of majorly anticipated titles that are set for release in the coming months
With the Irish release of his latest movie ‘Maze’ (Stephen Burke) set for Sept 22nd, two-time IFTA Winning actor Vaughan-Lawlor, is set for a hugely exciting few months ahead with his role as villain Ebony Maw in the upcoming Marvel movie ‘Avengers: Infinity War’. He also plays alongside Irish actor Sam Kelley and Ellen Page in the upcoming 'The Cured' (The Third Wave) (David Freyne). IFTA is hosting a private Academy Member's screening of Maze plus Q&A on Monday 18th September.
Coming to prominence as the iconic ‘Nidge’ in Love/Hate, Vaughan-Lawlor has had a hugely busy schedule featuring as ‘Padraig Pearse’ in the imagined look at Irish history in the TV3 Mini-Series ‘Trial of the Century, and as ‘P.J.Mara’ in the RTE Mini-Series ‘Charlie,’ and as ‘Michaelis’ in the BBC Series, ‘The Secret Agent.’
The past two years have also seen Vaughan-Lawlor work alongside the likes of Eric Bana, Rooney Mara and Aidan Turner in Jim Sheridan’s ‘The Secret Scipture’ as well as sharing the screen with Bryan Cranston in 'The Infiltrator', who described Lawlor as ‘Dangerously talented.’
Speaking on RTE Radio 1, Vaughan-Lawlor confirmed he would be featuring in what is being labelled as the biggest budget movie of all time. "I am, but it’s like I’m one of those ones where you go into a sentence to say something about it and hope you have a job at the end of the sentence. You sign so many documents and waivers and people ask you about it and you have to give the generic and boring ‘I can’t say too much about it, but I am doing it and it’s really amazing and an amazing thing to be part of. With social media there’s so much potential for leaks so Marvel understandably want to micro-manage things and make sure it goes out when they are ready.”
Avengers: Infinity War is set to release Spring 2018, ‘The Cured’ (The Third Wave) to release later this year and Maze due to release Sept 22nd.
