Irish composers and filmmakers are invited to apply for a film-scoring workshop and recording session with the RTÉ Concert Orchestra. The new collaborative project is between Filmbase, IMRO, FÁS STI and the Contemporary Music Centre. more

BCI National Conference ‘Does the Medium Matter?’
The Broadcasting Commission of Ireland has announced its National Conference will take place on 17 - 18 of September, at Dublin’s Croke Park Conference Centre. Entitled “Does the Medium Matter?” the conference will address themes of digital and new media from a variety of standpoints. more

Irish short film ‘Janey Mary’ has won the Best Short Film at the Moondance International Film Festival in Colorado, US, while cinematographer for the film Seamus Deasy (The General) picked up Best Cinematography (2nd place) at the Rhode Island International Film Festival. more

The Take-2 International Student Film Festival (T2FF), running from 3rd -7th November 2008, has announced that Laura Waters Hinson, winner of the Best Documentary Oscar at this year’s 35th Student Academy Awards, will be part the this years adjudication panel. more
