Irish actor Colin Farrell, Spanish actress Paz Vega (Sex & Lucia) and screen legend Christopher Lee (Star Wars) will star in ‘Triage’, the latest pic from Oscar winning filmmaker Danis Tanovic (No Man's Land). Starting next week, the film will shoot for five weeks in Spain, followed by a three week shoot in Dublin. more
 IFTA Invites Applications for New Membership
The Irish Film and Television Academy (IFTA) has opened its annual membership for industry professionals wishing to become new Academy members. Irish professionals working in the film and TV industries are eligible to join - and the newly introduced Student Membership offers students a head start in the industry. more
 ‘Dance on the Box’ Winners Announced
The Arts Council and RTÉ have unveiled the four short films selected for funding under the latest Dance on the Box scheme. The winners were selected from 27 applications with almost €100,000 awarded to the greenlit projects. more

Irish director Pete Travis (Omagh, Vantage Point) is lined up to direct a political thriller ‘Endgame’ for Channel 4. Based on a true story, the film focuses on secret talks that brought down apartheid in South Africa. more
Elaine Cassidy Leads CBS Drama ‘Harper's Island’
Irish actress Elaine Cassidy (Felicia’s Journey, Fingersmith) has landed a lead role in CBS drama ‘Harper’s Island’. The actress is currently filming the pilot for the series in Canada. more

Irish Screenwriter is ‘A Pitch In Time’ Finalist
Aspiring Irish screenwriter Nicola Depuis has been selected as one of ten finalists for the Screenwriters’ Festival ‘A Pitch in Time’ competition. The 28 year old Cork native will travel to the UK in July to pitch her idea for ’12 Things I’m Gonna Do When I Grow Up’ which was selected from 1,500 entries. more
Red Pepper Prep Irish Sex Doc Series for TV3
Red Pepper Productions are in pre-production on their latest documentary series ‘How the Irish Have Sex’. The new 6 x 1hour series for TV3 is tipped as a frank look at how the Irish have experienced and dealt with sexuality since the late 1960's. more
‘Grow Your Own’ Opens Bealtaine Film Tour
Richard Laxton’s comedy ‘Grow Your Own’ will open the Bealtaine Festival Film Tour in Dublin on the 2 May at the Irish Film Institute. The film will be introduced by author/columnist Helen Dillon who will lead a Q&A on gardening after the feature presentation. more
Adult Gaeltacht Documentary Series Seeks Participants
Mind the Gap Films has launched a nationwide search for participants for their latest documentary series ‘An Bhfuil Cead Agam’. Producers want children to nominate their parents and “turn the tables on the annual Irish bootcamp” by sending them to the Gaeltacht. more
